The Cottageboat is built atop a specially-designed floating steel barge constructed for optimum buoyancy. The layout of the approximately 1,200 square foot two-level unit includes two large bedrooms, a three-piece bathroom, living room, dining area, hot tub, and large front deck. Further, the unit contains a kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and BBQ. Constructed of a quarter-inch steel, the hull integrates with the building's structural floor and includes a towing and anchoring mechanism. The hull achieves 100 percent residual buoyancy, including snow loads. Eight bulkheads offer access for maintenance. The superstructure is constructed using a high-efficiency, lightweight modular steel panelized design developed for energy efficiency in all climates."
